The CARTIERE DEL GARDA case presents the experience of a company that started on a path of change and chose Bonfiglioli Consulting as its partner for the implementation of major improvement projects.
In particular, theFinishing process was reviewed, applying methods and tools for balancing the workload of the lines. Efficiency was measured in all Converting departments and the main losses were attacked, through specific improvements, involving the operators. A new Planning model was developed that is based on a Logistic Decision Support tool. Flash Meetings, very effective tools for team coordination, consolidation of improvements achieved and knowledge dissemination were introduced. Finally, theapplication of the 5S was extended to the entire plant.
The main results of this project, which is still ongoing, were the increased productivity at the 7% sheeters and an overall increased OEE at the converting between the 5 and 6%. In addition to this important achievement, there is a significantchange in corporate culture toward empowerment and autonomy of all people involved in the project.
