The CARTIERE DEL GARDA case study presents the experience of a company that embarked on a journey of change and chose Bonfiglioli Consulting as a partner to implement major improvement projects.
Specifically,
the finishing process
was reviewed, applying methods and tools to balance the workload across the production lines.
Efficiency was measured across all Converting departments, and the main sources of waste were addressed through specific improvements involving the operators. A new planning model
was developed based on a logistics decision-support tool. ’Flash Meetings
’ were introduced as
highly effective tools for team coordination, consolidating the improvements achieved, and sharing knowledge. Finally, the application of the 5S methodology
was extended to the entire plant.
The main results of this ongoing project have been an increase in productivity at the 7% sheeters and a general increase in OEE in the Converting division ranging from 5 to 6%. In addition to this important milestone, there has been a significant shift in corporate culture toward empowering and fostering autonomy among all those involved in the project.
