The objectives of the course

Implement the SMED method on a real production machine, reducing and simplifying production changeover. Focus on standardization of activities and systematic detection of deviations from the standard, with systematic attack on anomalies

Contents

The training day includes:

• Introduction on SMED objectives and methodology to reduce and simplify production changeover time
• Training session on the production changeover matrix: how to choose a representative production changeover

Practical session: distinct production changeover sessions on a real machine with collection of anomalies that will gradually be reduced/eliminated

• Briefing after each production session, to strengthen team-working, with analysis of achieved performance, definition of the new standard and systematic attack on anomalies
• Training on SMED principles and tools, closely related to machine operations
