The implementation of the Manufacturing Training System (MTS) program.

The Client

One of the world’s largest label manufacturers, founded in 1966 by Luciano Cillario, is now run by his three sons. The company has over 1,100 employees across 6 facilities worldwide:

  • Bene Vagienna (CN), Italy: HQ and historic headquarters;
  • Napa, California: to serve the wine market;
  • Cincinnati, Ohio: to serve the bourbon market;
  • Guadalajara, Mexico: to serve the tequila market;
  • Glasgow, Scotland: to serve the whiskey market;
  • Touverac, France: to monitor the Champagne market.

Objectives of the project

Following rapid staff growth, the company had difficulty finding qualified personnel and therefore needed a training system for both new and existing staff.

Hence the decision to establish an in-house Academy with the following objectives:

  • Onboard new employees quickly and effectively;
  • To have more people with advanced knowledge and skills;
  • To make "tacit knowledge‘ a shared asset and thus disseminate and make it explicit;
  • Standardize training to make it more effective;
  • Spread the corporate culture and best practices;
  • Reduce human error, improving the quality of processes and products;
  • Achieve greater versatility among staff within each site and across different production sites.
