The implementation of the Manufacturing Training System (MTS) program.

.

The Client

One of the world's largest label manufacturers, founded in 1966 by Luciano Cillario, is carried on today by his three sons. The company has more than 1,100 employees in 6 plants worldwide:

  • Bene Vagienna (CN), Italy: HQ and historical headquarters;
  • Napa, California: to follow the wine market;
  • Cincinnati, Ohio: to follow the Bourbon market;
  • Guadalajara, Mexico: to follow the Tequila market;
  • Glasgow, Scotland: to follow the Whiskey market;
  • Touverac, France: to follow the Champagne market.

Objectives of the intervention

Following rapid staff growth, the company had difficulty finding qualified personnel and therefore needed a training system for both new and existing staff.

Hence the decision to establish an in-house Academy with the following goals:

  • Induct new people quickly and effectively;
  • Have more people with advanced knowledge and skills;
  • Making "tacit knowledge‘ an asset of all and then making it widespread and explicit;
  • Standardize training by making it more effective;
  • Disseminate corporate culture and Best Practices;
  • Reduce human errors, increasing quality at the process and product level;
  • Obtain greater polyvalence of personnel within each site and between different production sites.
