Exor International enters with the 10% in Digibelt. «The plant is one of our projects.»
Digibelt, an innovative startup of the Bologna-based Bonfiglioli Consulting group, has a new partner: Exor International. A reality specialized in the industrial internet of things and human-machine interface solutions, Exor International has joined the company by underwriting a capital increase corresponding to a minority stake in 10%. The marriage has a twofold objective: to boost the growth of Digibelt - the startup founded in 2017 aims to develop a platform of software products that foster the proper use of 4.0 technologies - and to jointly build the first 5G smart factory in Exor International's new facility in Verona.
«The agreement,» explains Umberto Mirani, CEO of Digibelt, «is the latest step in a journey that began two years ago. There is mutual appreciation for the skills brought to the table with the aim of to accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises. At this stage, the entry of such an important entity allows us to expand our presence in more market segments and increase precisely our ability to implement the digital transformation of companies.»
The 5G smart factory will push innovation to the highest level. «Every part of the process,» says Giuseppe Pace, ad of Exor International, «will be digitized. You will be able to have vision inside the factory itself,in special reading rooms or from the outside through the cloud.‘ An area of about 3 thousand square meters,which will be ready by the end of 2020,in which objects will communicate with each other. ’We have also received sponsorship from Intel,» Pace announced. A project that will become reality thanks to the new 5G technology. While the Bologna-based startup will accelerate its development process. «The oil of the future,» Mirani continues, "is data, which 'refined' properly becomes fundamental information: those collected in the factory and outside must be used to optimize processes and products and arrive at new business models. The software we develop collects and transforms this information into useful indications for understanding, for example, how a product is used or whether it needs special maintenance." It is a company founded with an ambitious goal, Digibelt. "We want to be a global reference partner of companies in integrating production processes through the lean, safe and enlightened use of 4.0 technologies."
