Looking beyond

Born out of the "Looking Beyond" theme of the 2005 Lean Summit, with this text we go beyond the traditional fields of application of Lean Thinking, to discover that Lean Thinking does not stop at production and embraces design and offices 360° as well; it goes beyond the company and must involve the whole chain of suppliers; it goes beyond manufacturing companies and is successfully applied in service companies and public administration, and thus to the whole Italian system!

Lean Thinking then, goes beyond company size and becomes the prerogative not only of large companies, but also of small and medium-sized enterprises, where it is definitely easier to change the way of thinking. The cases presented at the Lean Summit, the results obtained and the conclusions are collected in this important book, a current cross-section of the Italian industrial reality, with a constant eye on future trends and developments.
