The challenge of achieving high process quality standards

Knowing how to ensure high quality standards at both process and product levels is a major challenge in sustaining corporate competitiveness. Such standards make it possible not only to generate quality output, but also to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities.

This course was created with the intent of fostering people's awareness of the costs and impacts of non-quality, focusing on the growth and development of employees who can identify effective and actionable solutions to quality issues.

The ultimate goal of the course remains the growth of customer satisfaction as a judge of perceived final quality.

Skills for managing quality and standardization issues

Main objectives of the course are:

  • Define the conditions of production systems such as to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities
  • Define an effective procedure for the identification and analysis of nonconformities
  • Maintain the conditions defined to ensure compliance over time
  • Increase skills related to quality problem solving

 

Course modules: from definition to root cause reduction

  • The definition of quality
  • Quality problems in production
  • Ensuring quality standards
    • Definition and measurement of FTTs (First Time Through).
    • Deployment of defects, rework, and scrap to analyze the origins of nonconformities (QA Matrix)
    • Definition of operating conditions that ensure desired quality and process capability (QM Matrix)
    • Definition of prevention and maintenance cycles for Q factors (for capital intensive areas)
    • Definition of SOPs (Standard Operation Procedures for labor intensive areas).
  • Establish, train, and manage improvement teams
  • The search for the root cause
  • The value and non-value assets in the factory.
  • Definition of waste and how to recognize it

 

Learning-by-doing session: practical activities and exercises will be conducted in order to better understand how to apply the content covered.

The course is aimed at Industrial Managers, Operations Managers, Plant Managers, Operational Excellence Managers, Lean Managers, Managers and Functional Managers of all business areas.

The duration of the course is 8 hours in-person at the Lean Factory School®.
