Bonfiglioli Consulting expands its presence in the U.S.

Bonfiglioli Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in Lean methodology, chooses the United States of America, specifically California, to strengthen its international operational presence and consistent with its plan to become Italy's leading international lean consulting firm announces the opening of a new office in San Diego. This brings to seven the number of international offices where Bonfiglioli Consulting has structured its presence. The others are: New Delhi, Bangalore and Pune in India; Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam; and Belo Horizonte in Brazil.

"The opening of the new office," explains Michele Bonfiglioli, managing director of Bonfiglioli Consulting, "will allow the expansion of activities in an area that represents an antenna on new trends in Silicon Valley and a springboard into one of the fastest-growing economic hubs in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, renewable energy, telecommunications and the IT sector.

The start-up project in the U.S. territory includes an economic investment of around 100 thousand euros to make the office operational by March 2018 and two resources with business development, technical-operational and general management roles.

Founded in 1973, when no one in Italy knew what "lean manufacturing" was, today Bonfiglioli Consulting has about 200 active clients including multinationals and small & medium-sized companies, 80 employees, more than 120 projects completed in 2017 with a total value of 8.5 million euros. In addition to its international offices, the company is present in Italy in Bologna, Milan, Padua.

Specializing in the Lean methodological approach, Bonfiglioli Consulting works on four main areas of focus: Processes, Innovation, Sustainability and Resources considered the four fundamental levers a company must focus on to be excellent and effectively sustain international competition. In addition to its business support activities, Bonfiglioli is also training the Lean Factory School®, "the enterprise gymnasium" where managers and entrepreneurs don lab coats and overalls and armed with screwdrivers and drills as well as charts and forecasts, confront real problems on production lines and digital transformation to improve enterprise competitiveness. The Lean Factory School® is a new model of a training school, structured to apply the concepts of Lean Thinking in the field, in an environment that faithfully reproduces business reality. During 2017, 45 courses were delivered with a total of more than 600 participants.
