Learn Lean World Class® strategies for effective supply management

Strategic and operational decisions today are characterized by high complexity at every level of the company. In this area, the Purchasing area plays a key role: careful management of purchasing costs results in a very significant leverage on operating profitability.
The course aims to present a current and effective approach to procurement management. Indeed, the emergence of new markets, new supply chains, and new issues such as reshoring, partnerships, and risk mitigation make the environment in which Procurement operates ever-changing. In this course, you will learn a current and effective approach to translating purchasing strategy into concrete actions and will explore what methods and tools of the Lean World Class ® approach are applied to Procurement.

 

OBJECTIVES

Course participants will learn how to:

  • Translating purchasing strategy into concrete actions by delving into methods and tools of the Lean World Class® approach applied to Procurement
  • Move beyond the concept of simply reducing costs, with a view to improving their respective products and services for their customers
  • Redefine the procurement strategy according to resilience principles to ensure business continuity and create value.

TOPICS COVERED

  • Supply Chain Cost Deployment: Identify and value losses and related priorities for improvement.
  • Economic analysis of procurement processes: determine the resources absorbed by the purchasing process and how to trace them back to a supplier through the Total Cost of Ownership tool.
  • Strategic portfolio segmentation: Implement proper supply relationship management using portfolio matrices.
  • Strategic Plan: Align procurement strategy with business objectives through the Hoshin Kanri methodology.
  • Supply risk: Understand the nature of risks and develop risk elimination and/or mitigation strategies.
  • Supplier performance: Evaluate suppliers from the aspects of quality, delivery & cost and perform comparative analysis among them.

The course is held in-person for a duration of 8 hours (1 day) and involves alternating between frontal exposition, practical exercises, simulations and business cases.
