TPM was first the acronyms for Total Productive Maintenance, then it was changed into Total Productive Manufacturing. The implementation of this approach strives to maximize plants efficiencies by improving processes reliability.
OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) is the KPI to measure performances and achieved results and to highlight areas for improvements.
The implementation of this approach is recommended in Capital-intensive companies, where investments in plants are high. All people from line operators to plants manager have to be engaged in its implementation because all activities towards improvement are carried on in team.
The TPM Pillars:
- Autonomous Maintenance
- Professional Maintenance
- Focus Improvement
- Quality Maintenance
In our Lean Factory School® we regularly offer training session about TPM approach to learn how to bring plants to maximum operating efficiency. Please see details.
